Two days ago, you guys stepped up once again to show the world just how much we care about protecting the Internet. Together, we generated more than 140,000 calls to Senators, spent more than 4,200 hours on the phone with their staffers, and blacked out 650,000 of our blogs to make our point and inspire others to get involved. And what’s more, this was on top of the 90,000 calls we sent to members of the House of Representatives a month ago. Incredible.
It’s now becoming clear just how much impact our action is having. On January 18th, only 31 members of Congress opposed these bills. Just one day later, 101 members of Congress publicly stood with us in opposition. We are being heard.
And as of today, it looks like both the Senate PIPA and House SOPA bills have been shelved, for the moment. It seems pretty likely that the bills won’t pass as written—a big first win. We now hope that Internet companies, the creative community and the content industry join together to innovate and devise new partnerships to combat online piracy. We’re confident there are effective ways to do this without damaging the Internet or diminishing our freedoms.
You’ve made a big difference in keeping the Internet a safe and open place for creators. Thank you again.
Being a Web Designer you need to have a specific hardware and software to start the job. Most of the people think that the only thing makes a computer runs fast is the memory and the processor. But do you know? Hard disk also contributes to the speed of your computer. What do I mean? Simply saying that if you want to make your computer fast then be sure you also have a hug e hard disk space.
The following things below are some tips you need to remember when configuring your computer for web design:
· Operating System – There are 3 main OS or Operating System that exist, they are Microsoft, Mac and Linux. Choosing your OS is not a problem it doesn’t make much difference, but I would suggest that to use the one that you are most familiar with.
· Monitor – There are a lot of monitors in the market these days, they are CRT (Cathode Ray Tube), LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) and the LED (Light Emitting Diodes). LCD and LED is not far with each other in terms of performance it’s just the LED is brighter than LCD. But the question here, what do I need for web designing? As my friend Jerome said who is a Web Designer he still prefers the CRT type (if you don’t know, they are the big and heavy monitors that looks like an old television). As I him why, he answered that in CRT you can clearly see your work in different angles unlike the LCD and LED that when you look on the side or top of the screen it gets blurry or dark.
· Memory – As many said invest more in here than your processor, most of the things you need to run while working needs a big memory especially Photoshop and etc., when you have more applications open at the time, your computer will not suffer.
· Storage – Just what I’ve said earlier, this is one of the most important as it helps your computer runs faster. The more space the more smooth you can work.
I hope you’ve learned something! Cheers!

One of the important things when creating a web site is the design and layout for easy reading and navigating. In web designing there are things that you should avoid to prevent your visitors from feeling annoyed in your site, here are some tips.
· High Resolution Image – This is one important thing, these high resolution images will slow down your site and it will take years to load. Not every visitors that going to visit your site has good broadband connection, so I suggest do not put images straightly in your site that comes from your camera, these images will be large in size and it will just slow down the loading of the page and it will cause your visitor to get annoyed and start closing your site and visit another which are faster to load.
· Small Fonts – Have you ever visited a site that has very small fonts? If yes, how did you feel? It really makes hard to read things and here comes the worse part which is you’re going to get annoyed. The best thing to do is to use a standard font or a font that not hard read. Use a standard size which is usually 12 or above for easy reading.
· Pop-ups – There are some sites (usually old school sites) that every time you click a word or a category it will open up another window of your browser and start loading again for that page, and yes, this is annoying. Try to make your site fast, single click and will not open another window.
· Messy Design – Just like my previous article white space in the surroundings of the site is the key for your website, cluttered images and mixed colors will just make your visitors frustrated and start to.. you know what.
These are just few things to avoid and there still a lot but try to follow these and make your site a user friendly page for everyone! Cheers!

In the web there are a lot of websites that it will take you a lot of clicks before you reach what you are supposed to see. Your navigational structure should be neat, consistent and easily accessible for an optimal undistracted user experience. The navigation should be flexible enough to accommodate any amount of additional links as required.
